THE ARTS

Music, Drama, Art and Design are important in the lives of the pupils. There is enormous enthusiasm for these subjects and although these are aspects of our school programmes that are yet to be fully developed, work is in progress and we hope very soon to achieve very high standards at all levels.
Plans are underway to continually expand facilities to enable pupils to gain an increasingly rich variety of experiences and opportunities to develop not only their own skills in performance, creativity and craftsmanship, but also to develop their critical and appreciative faculties as members of an audience or as observers.

MUSIC

Music, although not taken as an IGCSE subject, features in every facet of life at Grange, from school assemblies to competitions and productions.
Using a wide variety of instruments, all classes are given lessons. Pupils are introduced to various music forms, like classical, jazz, contemporary, folk, and choral music. The Grange School choir participates in several local and international competitions.

DRAMA

Drama forms part of the curriculum for our infant and junior classes and we have plans to teach drama in our senior classes as well as offer it as an IGCSE subject in the near future.
In the mean time, we explore the joy and excitement which drama brings to the pupils through short but meaningful and thought provoking production staged at our weekly assemblies, special celebrations and of course our annual Christmas concerts.

ART AND DESIGN

All our classes enjoy the process of making and working in art and design. From our reception class to our IGCSE class, pupils enjoy showing their abilities, communicating their feelings and feeding their imaginations through art and design. Art and Design is offered as one of our options for IGCSE and the excellent results do not leave room for any doubt that our pupils are very talented. Developing our pupils creative skills and aesthetic appreciation is fully supported as a fundamental part of a balanced education. Each pupil is encouraged to develop his/her own style and experiment with different approaches. Work is displayed around the school and exhibited on special occasions.
